Ninja Type: Slice Words at the Speed of Shadows
Ninja Type is a quick-reflex action game. Scrolls fly across the screen from both sides, and your ninja slices each one in midair by typing the word written on it.
How to play
Words appear on scrolls that arc across the dojo. Type a word and your ninja leaps to cut it. Do not let three scrolls land on the floor. Watch out for the red scrolls, because slicing one by mistake costs a life, and you avoid them by simply not typing.
The core idea
Scrolls are thrown in waves, and waves have a pattern, such as three quick throws or one slow high arc. Learning these patterns lets you plan ahead. Slice scrolls from the same wave in the order they fly for a combo, and the dojo master awards a belt color after each stage.
Skills you practice
- Reading ahead while still typing
- Deciding what not to type
- Keeping bursts of speed accurate
- Handling rhythm changes in fast waves
For teachers and parents
The red scroll adds a gentle thinking element that keeps older students engaged. All art is cartoon style with no violence, and the scrolls simply vanish in a puff of paper. Parents can pick the slower dojo level.
Tips for better play
Learn the wave patterns first and speed second. Most waves repeat, so after a few tries you will know when a red scroll is coming. Keep your eyes on the scroll you will type next, not the one you are typing now. If lives run low, slow down a little, because accuracy keeps the combo alive.
