Meteor Typer

Lock onto one meteor at a time and type its word to shatter it before it hits the ground.

Controls

Type the word on the highlighted meteor. Backspace fixes a wrong letter. Space fires the shockwave when the meter is full. Esc pauses the game.

Meteor Typer: Crack the Rocks Before Impact

Meteor Typer puts you in a small observatory on a quiet planet while space rocks drift toward the surface. Each rock carries a short word, and your keyboard is the only tool you have to crack it into harmless dust.

How to play

Look for the rock with the glowing outline, because that is your current target. Type its word and a beam splits the meteor. Finish a word and the next closest rock lights up. If a rock reaches the ground it leaves a crater and costs one shield bar. Lose all shield bars and the round ends.

The core idea

Unlike games where every word is in play at once, Meteor Typer locks onto one rock at a time and shows the whole sky on a radar. Large meteors carry long words and give big bonuses, while tiny ones carry short words and arrive in swarms. Clearing a swarm without a mistake builds a combo meter that charges a one-time screen-wide shockwave.

Skills you practice

  • Choosing a priority target and sticking with it
  • Switching quickly between short and long words
  • Keeping rhythm during fast bursts
  • Recovering after a typo without panic

For teachers and parents

The single-target lock makes it easier for younger players to follow than games with many words at once. Teachers can use the radar to talk about prioritizing. Parents can lower the meteor speed in the settings screen for a relaxed session.

Tips for better play

Do not rush the first letter. Read the whole word on the highlighted rock, then type it in one smooth motion. When a swarm arrives, finish the nearest rock first and let the radar guide your eyes. Saving the shockwave for a crowded moment is usually smarter than using it early.
